10/07/2020 - Theater: the great return of Gabriele Lavia, in the double role of director and actor
There are two theatrical appointments with a giant on the scene, Gabriele Lavia who will be director of MEDEA Euripides on 8 August, a special reduction made by Lavia himself with interpreters Federica De Martino and Simone Toni. The perfect setting is that of the enchanting Ancient Theater for the best known tragedy by Euripides which tells us about Medea's difficulty in being accepted as a woman, and not to be imploded by the role of caregiver and mother. The following day, August 9, Gabriele Lavia becomes an actor and plays Fedor Dostoevsky's The Dream of a Ridiculous Man. The theater piece offers a deep and passionate reflection on the condition of the human being. The monologue represents a world that has condemned itself to suffering, self-imprisoned, locked and forced into a metaphorical straitjacket, condition and impediment of any good deed. Gabriele Lavia in several moments of his career was confronted with this text: "The first time I read it to friends at the age of 18 and I was not yet an actor", he recalls, "today a life has passed and the dream is almost a obsession. I chose to put it on stage to reaffirm strongly how indifference, corruption and degeneration cannot be the living conditions of our society "
