2/24/2020 - From Friday at the House of Cinema The Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer by Yorgos Lanthimos with Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman
Film programming continues at the House of Cinema on Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 1st March at 4.30pm – 6.30pm – 8.30pm is the turn of The Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer for the direction of Yorgos Lanthimos with Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman. Steven Murphy is a renowned heart surgeon married to Anna, with whom he has two children. His life is seemingly perfect, but secretly the family often meets with Martin, an orphaned boy of his father with whom he establishes a friendship. When Martin reveals that he has cursed Murphy, Steven is forced to make a terrible decision. Psychological thriller then? Perhaps, certainly, the wise choice of the actors helps to create that tension that the Greek director Lanthimos realizes with great effectiveness starting from an initial situation seemingly ordinary, which evolves unexpectedly to become an ending Inevitable. Albeit in absolute irrationality.
